Introducing Mechanically Generater Energy in (rural) Tanzania.

 

ASSIGNMENT 

Master thesis (Strategic Product Design) at the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft University of Technology. Subject: The evergoing lack of access to energy mainly in Base of the Pyramid countries: 2 billion people according to the Worldbank (2012) and (1) the exploration of the opportunity to tap into this problem by (re)designing a product-services system that uses human powered energy as input to counteract this problem and deal with the difficulties of the current context (lack of infrastructures and distribution, cultural and mindset differences). Goal is to create a non-obstructive solution that makes the people more self-sufficient and stimulates entrepreneurship.
