CONCEPT OF RIZIQI

Together with a colleague I've been working on the development of a Human Pedal Powered System called RiziQi (www.facebook.com/RiziQiEnergy). It is an addition to a bike that through cycling makes it possible to generated energy. The energy is then stored in a battery, which than can be used for different purposes.

The project started in Tanzania in augustus 2013 where we got the assignment to develop this. A need assessment research conducted in Kiparang’anda, a village near Dar es Salaam, showed us from up close what is going on and motivated us to move on with the project. Our vision is to further develop this and implement it in rural villages in development countries starting in Tanzania. More research is required to make a product that is more market-oriented.
